The
Learning Disabilities Association of Iowa (LDA-IA) will
award three
scholarships to current high school seniors who plan
to enroll in post-secondary education (college or
vocational) for the 2012-2013 school year.
APPLICATION FORMS
Description
The
scholarships are to assist students with learning
disabilities (see eligibility requirements on application
form) in pursuing a post-secondary education at an
accredited institution which provides:
a. a two- or four-year college program, or
b. vocational training
The
scholarship is to be used for school-related expenses.
This does not include gasoline, meal plans, or living
expenses.
Number and Amount
Three scholarships valued at $1,000 each will be awarded.
Selection
Scholarship recipients will be selected from applications
that have been postmarked no later than
March 31, 2012.
Payment Procedures
In
the fall, after verifying a recipient’s enrollment, LDA-IA
will send a check for $250 payable to the student. The
recipient will receive a check for $750 when documentation
is received that a student has completed vocational training
or the first year of school as a full-time student.
Application Requirements
Applicant must fully complete and submit four items: 1) The
scholarship application, 2) essay, 3) the
publicity form, and 4) an
entire current IEP.
