The
Learning Disabilities Association of Iowa (LDA-IA) will
award three scholarships to high school seniors who plan to
enroll in post-secondary education (college or vocational)
for the 2010-2011 school year.
Description
The
scholarships are to assist students with learning
disabilities (see eligibility requirements on application
form) in pursuing a post-secondary education at an
accredited institution which provides:
a. a two- or four-year college program, or
b. vocational training
The
scholarship is to be used for school-related expenses. This
does not include gasoline, meal plans, or living expenses.
Number and Amount
Three scholarships valued at $1,000 each will be awarded.
Selection
Scholarship recipients will be selected from applications
that have been postmarked no later than
March 31, 2010.
APPLICATIONS ARE CLOSED
Payment Procedures
In
the fall, after verifying a recipient’s enrollment, LDA-IA
will send a check for $250 payable to the student. The
recipient will receive a check for $750 when documentation
is received that a student has completed vocational training
or the first year of school as a full-time student.
Application Requirements
Applicant must fully complete and submit four items: 1) The
scholarship application, 2) essay, 3) the
publicity form, and 4) an
entire current IEP.
